ACUTE AND CHRONIC STRESS
Acute Stress: A short term release of hormones caused by unexpected events in life. Because it is short term, acute stress doesn't have enough time to do the extensive damage associated with long-term stress. Acute stress is caused by surprising events such as almost getting an over, getting attacked by a dog or loud, unexpected noise. With acute stress, your body immediately goes into fight or flight mode. This means that your body ether decides to run away from the stressor or to stay and fight it. Your body will go back to normal after a while (homeostasis) , that's why its called acute stress, its short term.
Chronic Stress: This is the grinding stress that wears people away day after day, year after year. Chronic stress destroys bodies, minds and lives. This is the long term type of stress that could actually cause damage to the body. Chronic stress is caused by stressors like school, bills, family, ect. This may cause old age, pimples, headaches, obesity and even lead to death ! Best ways to stop chronic stress is to relax & do relieving exercises you enjoy doing.
In my life, there are a lot of stressors in my life. Things that give me stress are school and family. Keeping up my grades and turning all the work in is a HUGE stressor in my life. I'm just starting High School which means that's when colleges start looking at my grades. The material is getting harder and its a lot of work to do which is making me stress.
STRESS FEEDBACK LOOP RESPONSE
A stress feedback loop is made out of four parts : the Stimulus, Receptor , Control Center and Effector.
STIMULUS: receptors (weather, temperature, ect.)
RECEPTOR: Sens signals to the brain (hypothalamus)
CONTROL CENTER: the hypothalamus takes the message and releases the appropriate release hormones.
EFFECTOR: muscles, organs, or other structures that receive signals from the brain or control center and help restore the normal balance (homeostasis)

ACUTE STRESS FEEDBACK LOOP
Acute stress is a negative feedback loop. This means that it stops; you go back to homeostasis.
CHRONIC STRESS
Chronic stress is a positive feedback loop. This means that it will keep going on forever. In the picture below you will see an example of a birth feedback loop. This means that it will keep on going and going until the baby comes out.
